        great base for exploring great basin national park and baker park

        I loved that it was just 5 miles from Great Basin National Park, which made it super easy for early morning hikes. We enjoyed the peaceful vibe in the area after our adventures.

        The Whispering Elms Motel was a peaceful retreat with very comfortable rooms, ideally located just a short drive from Great Basin National Park. The staff were incredibly pleasant and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable.

        A more modern decor would enhance the experience.

        This was just a top selection for a weekend escape in Baker with great value for money. The bar food at the 475 Grille was surprisingly good and the staff were really friendly. I'd recommend bringing your own snacks, as options nearby are limited.

        The Vienna Beef hot dogs nearby were an absolute game-changer, and you can't beat the proximity to Great Basin National Park. The location is super quiet, perfect for a peaceful getaway!

        We rolled into the place an hour early, but Chuck was a bit off—guess he was busy with his project. His room prep left us with a strong odor that hit harder than a Nevada wind, making it tough for our daughter. Plus, a few stains on the blanket didn’t help the vibes!

        The Standard King Room was pretty comfy. I liked the hot shower and the bed was nice to crash in after long days. It felt a bit dated, but honestly, it was clean and had everything we needed—coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. Good wifi too. The decor could use a refresh, though. Overall, for being in the middle of nowhere, it was a solid choice!
